This started out as a challenge from the lovely Ms. Jury to do something “Mythical”. I have had D&D on the brain lately… so this image just popped into my head. Thanks for stopping by. ~ John

Who has sent this cute Dalek to detention? Who is making him write Exterminate 1,000 times? Who could have come up with such a clever Simpsons + Dr.Who visual gag?
My Fans that’s WHO!
After a daily “What shall I draw?” poll on facebook, my fans had the Simpsons & Dr. Who tied for first place. I was a bit apprehensive, but eventually it dawned on me I could combine these two pop culture icons using the classic Simpsons “Chalkboard gag”. Replacing Bart with a Dalek and adding Exterminate! Exterminate! Exterminate! was a winner. The fans agreed! So here it is.. the Fan generated Exterminate shirt! Now live in my shop!!

All Hallows Eve is almost upon us! I decided to put down the hot-glue gun long enough to post my process for my Mummy Costume this year. First, above, we have a Flickr slide show that shows the construction. For more details and descriptions check out my process set on Flickr. Thanks for stopping by.
Happy Halloween everyone!

Wow. Twenty four hours of CheFC on Teefury seems like a brain melting eternity! It was a real hoot! Hell of a roller coaster ride! I am currently waiting on my Z is for zombie submission to be printed on Teefury as well. After that, I am planning on a longer write up to get all my thoughts together on designing and selling shirts online. So far, my sketch-of-a-plan is working. In no small part due to good family support and friends.
Now back to the drawing board. Hmm, but what to draw? Bacon? Zombie doughnuts?
Thanks for stopping by! YOU! Yes you!

Above we have a handful of sketches I did in the evolution of this piece. Nothing earth shattering, but it’s interesting to look back at my thinking process. Once I nailed down the black line work, it was Wacom color time.
Now, complete and in color! I wrapped up this little Z project last night. Gave my new Wacom tablet a hefty work out. It is rather funky getting accustomed to not looking down as I draw. Weird. But it went really smoothly. Looking forward to doing much more.
Now on to the next project…
